Painting on acrylic panels changes its appearance depending on the direction of the light. This work pursues the quality of colors that are depicted by backlighting. Layers with different transparency and graininess are backlit to create a three-dimensional effect and complex texture.
Layers painted on the reverse side of the acrylic panel remain flat yet evoke depth and an untouchable presence.
Designed for spatial display, the work uses transparency and shadow to dissolve front-back distinction.
