Using the natural transparency of acrylic sheets, this work captures the quiet atmosphere of a peaceful holiday after the rain.
Various shades of white with different levels of transparency are painted on the reverse side of the acrylic sheet. Though the surface appears uneven, it is completely flat — an attempt to create depth within a two-dimensional plane.
This contrast between visual textureand physical flatness introduces a subtle sense of unease.
Instead of relying solely on paint, I aimed to use the shadows cast by the paint itself as part of the medium. By minimizing the direct application of paint, the shadows projected behind the acrylic help convey the complexity of the post-rain sky.
