<Ref-rection – Series>
Ref-rection is a series of mixed-media works that explore the ambiguity between self and surroundings through visual illusion and layered transparency. By painting on acrylic sheets and manipulating light and perspective, Michi OGAWA creates shifting images that reflect the instability of perception.
The viewer’s position—both physically and emotionally—affects what is seen, blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior, subject and environment. Through this process, the work becomes a space of reflection, not only in a literal sense, but as an invitation to question how we trace ourselves in a constantly changing world.
